Mabel's Tri-State Amateur
Talent Contest
Mabel Area Community Club Seeks Local Armature Talent!
The Mabel Area Community Club is sponsoring the First Annual
Tri-State Amateur talent contest to coincide with Mabel's
Annual 50s 60s Classic Car Show and Steam Engine Days.
1st round Competition will be Friday, August 8th from 6:00pm
till approx 9:00pm at the Steam Engine Grounds Stage in Mable
with 10 acts advancing to the finals Sunday, Sept. 7th
5:30-7:00 pm also at the Steam Engine Grounds Stage.
Rules for Contestants:
1. Any AMATEUR is eligible to enter. If you have been PAID,
you are not an amateur.
2. You must pre-register to perform. Entry forms are available
from Tammy Berkley (507) 493-5768. Every entrant (even in a
group act) must fill out a signed entry form. (If under 18
years of age, must be signed by parent or legal guardian.)
3. There will be 3 categories. Categories depend on ages and
types of entries.
4. The contest will be judged by 4 judges who will decide the
cash winners. $2000 in prizes will be awarded.
5. Winners will be announced after the finals.
6. Entries can be up to 4 minutes long-no longer! 2 minutes of
prep and take down time will be given-please come prepared!
7. Contest judged on 1) Originality 2) Stage Presentation 3)
Appearance/Neatness 4) Entertainment value

Richie has impersonated the late, great Buddy Holly since he was six years old. Now being only seventeen, he has played with many famous people as far away as Boston and Memphis.
Being from Des Moines, Iowa, he has also covered a good share of the Midwest.
